2024 ENVIRONMENTAL CARNIVAL
20 & 21 July
The Selangor State Government, through the Standing Committee for Environment, Climate Change, and Green Technology, was pleased to have announced the 2024 Environmental Carnival, which was scheduled on 20th and 21st July 2024 at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. This event was organized in collaboration with the non-governmental organization TUNAS and the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
This year’s theme, “Plastic-Free Campaign,” aims to raise public awareness about reducing plastic use and plastic waste in daily life and promoting sustainable living practices. The Environmental Carnival aligns with the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) (2021-2025), focusing on driving sustainability. The carnival featured 29 booths from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, small businesses, and private entities, offering various exhibitions and interactive workshops on environmental awareness. Highlights include:1
Zero Waste Shops
Showcasing reusable and biodegradable alternatives for daily items.

Eco-Friendly Fashion
Displaying clothing and accessories made from recycled and eco-friendly materials.

Organic Food
Presenting healthy and organic food options that promote sustainability and food security.

Eco-Friendly Products
Featuring products made from recycled and eco-friendly materials.
Additionally, a range of interactive and informative workshops were available throughout the weekend, including:

Workshop by Kawan Guni
Educating attendees on recycling categories and proper recycling practices.

Rakan Bumi Expedition
Offering education on innovative recycling and food waste solutions through visits to a Recycling Centre or W.I.S.E.

Workshop by Persatuan Benih Hijau
Introducing the tapir through storytelling, exhibitions, and clay art activities.
