SCAC Hosts Local Authority Climate Action Plan Coordination Workshop

Local Authority Climate Action Plan Coordination Workshop

Cities can no longer afford to treat climate planning as a hypothetical future scenario. From intense rainfall to urban heat stress, the challenges are immediate, and the response must be localised.

The Selangor Climate Adaptation Centre (SCAC) recently hosted the Local Authority Climate Action Plan Coordination Workshop to provide local councils with the latest state-level climate insights and to finalise the technical guidelines needed to protect communities, infrastructure and economies.

From High-level Policy to City-level Action

SCAC is moving beyond high-level policy to support Selangor’s local authorities in developing concrete, city-level Climate Action Plans. These plans are not documents to sit on a shelf; they serve as a practical, data-driven assessment of exactly where each city stands today.

By bridging the gap between district-level execution and state-level governance, the plans support a seamless, coordinated response to mitigation, adaptation and recovery.

Resilience Begins Locally

Climate resilience begins at the local level. By strengthening governance where planning meets community wellbeing, SCAC is helping to ensure that Selangor’s cities remain liveable, prepared and resilient for the future.
